I was a competitive gymnast growing up. I loved sports and was pretty athletic. I have been blessed with a body that reflects that. I do however work at maintaining my shape. Here are some of my secrets…
Diet is 75% of the reason I look like I do. Although I am guilty of indulging in fast food (aren’t we all) and the occasional treat. I try to eat healthy not only for my body, but also for my mind. I believe that if we eat foods filled with nutritional value our minds and brains work more effectively. I enjoy all fruits, some vegetables, and eat high protein. I also never cut myself off from Lay’s Salt and Vinegar Chips. They are my weakness. I just try to monitor how many I eat! Remember it’s not about perfection as it is about continually making an effort to look after ourselves.
When I train with weights I have found it more productive for me to train to build muscle. The more muscle we have the more we burn calories doing nothing at all. So I train heavier than most girls my size. I love weight training and don’t like cardio too much so this has worked for me.
I like to do ‘sprints’ to shock my body into dropping weight. Its great during filming when normal workouts do not happen. Sprints are proven to be one of the most effective ways of losing weight. I do not recommend you start sprinting right away either as you could injure yourself easily. Which I have! Don’t make the same mistake I did. You have to be in good physical condition to train sprints. Although they are effective you must work up to doing them.
I have been asked if I have had butt implants. The answer is no! I was born with a booty. To make sure it stays where it is, I prefer lunges and squats with weights. I find these two exercises the best for shaping legs and gluts.
I take Probiotics to assist in digestion. As a woman, I know a lot of us suffer from imperfect digestion. I find these gently assist with digestion, also improving in and supporting your immune system. I up my dose before traveling and filming. Then take a break from them every now and then.
On a final note I must mention water. It seems silly because it is so obvious. Most of us don’t drink enough. Water helps everything in our body perform better. Organs, digestion etc. It is the easiest thing you can do for anti-aging. Hydration = better skin, less lines and a more supple texture. I drink at least 6 glasses of water a day. If I don’t I can tell a difference in my energy, mood, and effectiveness. |
